Earlier this week, Scott Wagner was endorsed by white supremacist and anti-Semite Steve Bannon, the leader of America’s so-called “alt-right movement,” who maintains close ties to Donald Trump. Scott Wagner’s hometown paper, the York Dispatch editorialized, “Pennsylvanians prefer a more balanced approach in their politicians. So a gubernatorial candidate endorsed by the far-right, divisive Bannon? Probably not a good choice for this state.” This endorsement solidifies the fact that Scott Wagner is too conservative for Pennsylvanians.
“Scott Wagner’s endorsement by the leader of America’s Alt Right movement, Steve Bannon, should be no surprise,” said Beth Melena, communications director for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Wagner and Bannon both hold anti-semitic and white nationalist views and love Donald Trump. They both also want to strip health insurance from millions and to take away a woman’s right to make decisions about her own health care. Right wing Scott Wagner’s endorsement by Steve Bannon proves that he is far too extreme for Pennsylvanians.”
