The Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party voted on Sunday to nominate a candidate for the special election in House District 133 to be held on December 5, 2017. The committee nominated Jeanne McNeill as the Democratic Party’s candidate for the special election.
State Party Chairman Marcel L. Groen released the following statement:
“We are proud to nominate Jeanne McNeill to serve Lehigh County in the House of Representatives. Jeanne is a devoted member of her community and has always been a champion for those in need. She is a passionate Skills Trainer for CLIU 21, a member of PSEA, and a lifelong Democrat. She will continue the work that her late husband dedicated his career to: standing up for working Pennsylvanians, ensuring Pennsylvania’s children have access to quality education, and making the lives of the people in Lehigh County better.
“We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Representative Dan McNeill. We are thankful for his years of service, and we know that Jeanne McNeill will champion his legacy and strive even higher for the people of the 133rd District.”
Executive Director of the Pennsylvania House Democratic Campaign Committee, Nathan Davidson, released the following statement:
“The House Democratic Caucus was pleased to hear of the nomination of Representative McNeill’s wife Jeanne to fill out the term of her husband and continue his legacy of open, transparent, and ethical government in the House. We look forward to Jeanne joining the Caucus to advance our common goal of building a commonwealth where anyone can succeed.”
