Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills issued the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision on the Trump vs. Hawaii case:
“The decision by the Supreme Court to uphold Trump’s Muslim Ban today is wrong and we will look back on this decision with shame. Banning people from entering our country based on who they worship is unjust, and we cannot accept the sanctioning of discrimination from our nation’s highest court. Mitch McConnell and his Republican cronies like Pat Toomey stole a seat on the Supreme Court, and we will be living with the ramifications of that theft for a generation.
“Today’s decision also underscores the need for Democrats to win in November. We need to work across the commonwealth and across the country to take back the U.S. Senate so we can provide a check on Donald Trump’s Supreme Court appointments and stop these terrible decisions from further damaging our country.”
