Breaking News: PA Supreme Court Rejects Legislative Maps
Dear Friend,
Yesterday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court handed down a historic decision. For the first time in 50 years, they rejected the plan proposed by the Legislative Reapportionment Commission for the state senate and legislative districts.
During this year's redistricting process, the Republicans who were in control of every step of the process went about it in all the wrong ways. Shutting out public input, they put partisanship over representation, splitting up cities and communities and making districts from one end of the Commonwealth to the other.
Overreach has consequences. The Supreme Court has insisted that both the districts that were drawn are unacceptable, as we all knew.
There are still a lot of questions about what comes next. There will be a lot of work to do to make sure the new districts are improved and that Democrats who will represent the people of their district can win in November.
The Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Campaign Committee led the charge in bringing these challenges to the Supreme Court. Make sure to support them and visit their website, like them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.

In the coming days, we'll find out more about what the process will look like. Stay tuned for updates.
