CAUCUS-WATCH PARTIES ARE GREAT!Posted by Chairman on January 4, 2008 - 9:42am. I’m proud to report that the PA Democratic Party’s first-ever caucus-watch party and blogjam last night was a huge success. I want to thank the dozens of College and Young Democrats, as well as our other activists, who made their way through the cold to our offices on North 2nd Street. In particular, I want to send a big thank you to Rachel Moore, president of Pennsylvania’s College Democrats. Rachel and her team have been doing a great job this year and it’s been my pleasure to work with them. You should take the time to check out their new website at www.pacollegedems.com. The night started with a short presentation about the online community we’re building here at www.padems.com, followed by an explanation of how the Iowa caucuses work. Then it was off to the races. I want to acknowledge the Iowa Democratic Party for their great Web page, which constantly updated itself with real-time results of caucus voting. We had it up on the projector and watched every change of the numbers with nearly rabid interest. Meanwhile our own regional field directors, Fadia Halma, Missy Stehr-Wood and Brigid Sulliven were signing everyone up to be network leaders. To find out more about this great program, email us at nick@padems.com. It was great to see the energy and enthusiasm of our guests. They were proof that the Democratic community in Pennsylvania is in motion and this is going to be a great year in the Commonwealth. But to make that a reality, we all need to continue to work together. So visit our site, comment on our blog and message board, and let us know about events in your area. Essentially – get involved! Your support and participation are what makes us strong and allows us to keep turning Pennsylvania from purple to blue. A fun and easy way to get involved is to join us at Dancing with Democrats next Friday night in Lancaster. We’ll put the “party” back in Party and, at the same time, raise money for the College Dems and Young Dems. I hope you’ll join us for a great night and a chance to see some of our Democratic leaders cutting a rug. To everyone who attended our event last night – Thank you again, it was great to see and talk to you. Mary Isenhour, Executive Director |

I agree that the party was a huge success. It was such a wonderful time to spend with fellow Democrats as we watch one of the most exciting times in modern political history unfold. Mary and the rest of the PA Dems have been so wonderful to the PA College Democrats and we are all thankful for their support and inclusion within the party system. On behalf of the PA College Democrats, thank you for everything you do. Here's to a happy, healthy and BLUE 2008!
Sorry I couldn't make it. The power brick for my laptop died last weekend and I had to order a replacement. That tied me to my desktop for the week. Fortunately the new one arrived and everything is ready for this weekend.
