Why would you be surprised that a black man as old as this now reitred preacher, who weathered the civil rights struggles, even perhaps withnessed the lynching of people he knew carries some bitterness in his heart. Why would you be surprised that a young black man who never had these experiences could see past this bitterness and resolve to do something to heal the divide that led to the older man's hurt. You are trying to stand in the way.
I am a Catholic, but i do not share the Church's view on abortion, birth control, or homosexuality. I do not want to be responsible for what my priest says in the pulpit about these issues. I do not stop going to mass because he calls abortion doctor's murderers.
Your eagerness to tar Obama with his preacher's comments is part ot the problem he is trying to heal. You seem only eager too eager to brand him with your prejudices and unfounded suspicions..
