Previous political experience is a plus, but not required. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is an equal-opportunity organization – we do not discriminate based on items such as race, gender, or sexual orientation, and encourage people from different backgrounds to apply. Schedules can be arranged on a case-by-case basis. You may be asked to do some weekend work. College credit hours are available for prospective interns, given that they meet the requirements set by the college or institution they attend.

Social Organizing Fellow

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is looking for part-time fellows for Fall 2012 in their offices in Philadelphia to enroll in our Social Organizing program. Pennsylvania is a key state in the 2012 elections, and fellows at the Pennsylvania Democratic Party get the opportunity to take a key role in helping us win those elections and gain practical, hands-on experience in campaigning.

In this emerging, fast-paced program with the PA Democratic Party, you will work closely with party staff and the major Pennsylvania political campaigns in a hybrid capacity working in field, new media, data, and communications. Working with the developing software and databases, you will be charged with getting Democratic activists to take actions online to engage their networks in the political process, contact voters about checking their voter status, and other tasks.  Your efforts will engage voters in social networks by driving Democratic messages and turning out key voters.
