Important Dates
Note: Make sure to check back regularly as dates have changed and may continue to change due to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court's decision to reject the proposed legislative maps. For more on that, click here.
January 26 First day to circulate and file nomination petitions
February 14 Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions
February 16 Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions for House and Senate ONLY
February 23 Last day to submit objections to nomination petitions
February 27 Last day for hearings on objections to nomination petitions
March 2 Last day to withdraw candidacy and last day for courts to make rulings on ballot eligibility
March 26 Last day to REGISTER before the primary
April 17 Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot
April 20 Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots
April 24 GENERAL PRIMARY
April 25 First Day to REGISTER after primary
May 1 Last Day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be postmarked no later than April 23)
August 1 Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions
August 8 Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination petitions
August 13 Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the primary
October 9 Last Day to REGISTER before the General Election
October 30 Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot
November 2 Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots
November 6 GENERAL ELECTION
November 7 First day to REGISTER after the General Election
November 13 Last Day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be postmarked no later than November 5) Note: All dates in this calendar are subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of State and subject to change without notice.
