It's amusing how the racists among us research far and wide to try to find negatives about Obama himself and find little or nothing. So they try guilt by association. Any black man with his background (raised by white grandparents) would need to read widely among black authors in order to understand how he really fitted into this society. He would have to read the bitter and the moderate. That is how intelligent people inform themselves. Having read these people, listened to Rev. Wright, his grandparents, his professors, he found his own life view. Are some of you guys simply not intelligent enough to understand this, or are you simply so partisan you pretend not to.

This is a Leader to be proud of. Here is a highly qualified lawyer, an honor graduate of Harvard who elected to spend early years after graduation on the streets of Chicago helping displaced factory workers like many of you. Just think that 425,000 of us contributed $40 million dollars to his campaign last month. He is the only candidate who does not owe anything to the people who outsource your jobs and foreclose on your homes. Some experienced Senators have braved the wrath of the Clintons to tell you so.
Hillary on the other hand has a checkered past.
She started out as a Goldwater girl, a supporter of the most conservative man to run for president in living memory.
She served on the board of Walmart for six years during which time Walmart ruthlessly fought any attempt at unionization, paid low wages and provided no healthcare. Did this show the heartfelt solidarity with labor she now claims. She is still the favorite of the rich. Twenty wealthy rich donors recently ganged up on Nancy Pelosi on her behalf. What do do you think they expect in return. How can any right thinking union member vote for this darling of the out sourcers.

Hillary Clinton Fired for Lies, Unethical Behavior
So says her boss on the House Judiciary Committee during the Watergate hearings, Jerry Zeifman. I haven't had time to digest it all, but Ed Morrissey reports on a column by Dan Calabrese that is based on Zeifman's account, supported by his own contemporaneous notes:
When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.
Why?
“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”
The allegations are explosive, and they come from the one person in the best position to know that they are true, Hillary's then-boss.

I think America would be a better place, a shining example to the world, if the whole country adopted the Black Value System. Substitute "AMERICAN" for "BLACK" and see what a wonderful place this country would become if we all lived by these values.

The congregation posits what it terms a Black Value System, including calls to be "soldiers for black freedom" and a "disavowal of the pursuit of middleclassness."
In an interview late Monday, Obama said it was important to understand the document as a whole rather than highlight individual tenets. "Commitment to God, black community, commitment to the black family, the black work ethic, self-discipline and self-respect," he said. "Those are values that the conservative movement in particular has suggested are necessary for black advancement.
"So I would be puzzled that they would object or quibble with the bulk of a document that basically espouses profoundly conservative values of self-reliance and self-help."
In his published memoirs, Obama said even he was stopped by Trinity's tenet to disavow "middleclassness" when he first read it two decades ago in a church pamphlet. The brochure implored upwardly mobile church members not to distance themselves from less fortunate Trinity worshipers.

Vallmer Jordan, a church member who helped draft the precepts, said they were designed to empower the black community and counter a value system imposed by whites. "The big question mark was racism," he said. "Black disempowerment was an integral part of that historical value system. It became increasingly apparent to me that we black people had not developed our own value system . . . to help us overcome all we knew we had to battle."
He acknowledged that the principle on "middleclassness" was a hard sell, even then.
"There was a hunk of resistance to that principle," Jordan said. But eventually committee members came to understand its intention: "Any black person who identifies himself as middle-class psychologically withdraws from the group and becomes a proponent of strengthening and sustaining the system," he said.
Harris-Lacewell, the Princeton professor, said the "disavowal of the pursuit of middleclassness" is simply an argument against materialism and the pursuit of the American standard of wealth. Many white Christian churches also preach against materialism.
Senator Casey is a looser.

Many Members of Rev. Wright's Church were Middle Class and he was proud of them
Senator Obama is by any measure at least Middle Class. He was an honored member of Rev. Wright's church. He explained that the Church encomapassed a cross section of the Black Community Doctors, Lawyers, College students and reformed gang bangers.
Although I do not share that culture, it's easy to see that the Rev. Wright was urging his followers not to fall victim to some our middle class failings like materialism and contempt for what we call losers for there were many 'losers' in his congregation. It was his way of saying what we put this way in the Catholic church "See the face of Christ in every other human being.
It's amazing the stupid, trivial excuses that bigots offer for opposing Obama. Not being able to criticize the man on his merits, they scrape the bottom of the barrel for reasons.

I read it through, and I'm left wondering exactly what part of it you have a problem with? Is it the notion that Blacks wish to live and teach excellence within their community? Doesn't your church have a doctrine of excellence for its parishoners? Can you specifically identify what part you have a problem with? Is it just the general notion that Blacks have the nerve to want the same things you want? Sen. Casey doesn't need your vote. He'll get lots of support without you.
This isn't hatred, it's solidarity. Is it "Hatred" for Americans to support actions that empower America on the global stage beyond China? No. These are people with common interests and common backgrounds sticking together to improve their culture. The outright FEAR expressed by many Hillary supporters is disheartening - we are supposed to be the party of inclusion, but the mere MENTION of race sends so many over the edge and drives them into right-wing territory. Why are we not discussing how to erase racial divisions? Why are we exploiting our differences as Americans to achieve political gain, and not talking about overcoming these boundaries? Too many of Hillary's supporters' FIRST line of defense is to attack the character of Obama and his supporters. They don't have any arguments of substance, they have no beef with Obama's message, they refuse to discuss the issues at hand, and they will not have a serious discussion with any kind of respect for anyone who disagrees with them. It makes me wonder if the only Hillary supporters on this board are just Operation Chaos people sent in by Rush Limbaugh to keep the tone of this race as low and as petty as possible.
Senator Obama has accomplished a lot for the people he represents in Illinois, and Senator Clinton has accomplished a lot for the people she represents in New York. These two are similar on the issues, but vastly different in their approach. They both deserve to be heard, they both have the right to run, and their respective supporters all have the right to speak. But I can't help but notice that while Obama's supporters are making arguments based on facts and seem to be trying to communicate at a level that includes all views and tries to understand everyone, Hillary's supporters are angry before the conversation can even get started, distorting and exaggerating events, and flaming anyone who dares to disagree with them into the ground.
Their arguments are nonsense, and they might as well be quoting Sean Hannity or Limbaugh for all the good they are doing their candidate. Hillary supporters - I urge you to tone down the rhetoric and join a civilized discussion where we can really compare facts about the candidates, their views, and their approach. We have to solve this primary, and for our own good and the good of America, we must be united in November.

It's sad to see that this contest has degenerated into openly bickering about race. Half of the Democratic Party are afraid of the Big Scary Black Guy, have switched to watching Faux News, not just throwing enlightened discussion but our entire country under the bus. I'm all for people airing their complaints or concerns, but this "Black Value System" nonsense is just what the News TOLD you to be worried about. What doesn't make sense for a black church to support black people? Why is it "HATE" for a bunch of people with a common trait to get together and show support for one another? Is Alcoholics Anonymous a HATE group because they don't spend half their sessions talking about the plight of orphans?
Obama's policies cannot be assailed, his voting record and public service cannot be assailed, so what do we do? Half of us go for the jugular and start badmouthing the guy over his RACE. This is disgusting, and it isn't the Democratic Party I know.
If you want to know what the real dividing line is between Hillary supporters and Obama supporters, it isn't race or gender. It's age and idealism. Listen to Barack's "More Perfect Union" speech, and actually listen to what he is saying, not just waiting for soundbites you can use to slander him. Try to hear the message of a badly damaged public discourse in this country and our absolute need to overcome it and heal our divisions. America will not stand divided, but divided is exactly what America and the Democratic Party will be if Hillary pulls her strings and STEALS this race from the candidate who actually has the popular vote.

What is wrong with a Black Value System?
This is a predominately black church. Why not lift up the congregation with a system that addresses issues of importance to the black community -- cohesive family, good and continuing education, goals and excellence, discipline and self respect.
Goals that the white churches would do well to adopt -- and by all means, if the congregation is white and the system addresses issues that will lift that white community, call it a White Value System.
A sad day, indeed, for the intelligence of a nation when we resort to blaming people for what other people say and do.
A day of crisis when the media, supposedly well educated and trained, also fall into that trap.
A sad day, indeed, when voters twist goodness into ugliness to win their cause.
