Leave the democratic party!!!!Posted by Anonymous on May 6, 2008 - 8:07am. Hi, Just a fast note to the democratic party if you run Obama for president, my whole family across four states will leave the democratic party and become republicains. Are whole lives we have been proud democratics, but not anymore this is the final slap in the face if Obama gets the nod. I know what is 75 votes nothing right? But I know alot of people who feel the same way we do. So just think about it 75 here 75 there soon there won't be any one left to vote democratic. You are taking things to far with Obama!!!!! If you really feel that you should change party just because the wrong candidate wins good riddance. You never say why you believe, "You are taking things to far with Obama!!!!!" Is it that you cannot vote for a person of another race? If that is the case, the Democratic Party does not need racists.
Have you forgotten about the NUMEROUS scandals the Clintons have been involved with for the past 20 years? Or is it ok that President Bill Clinton PARDONED the same Weather Underground individuals that you mentioned above? That they are currently involved in a scandal for which HRC has to testify in court for after November? WHITEWATER...I can go on and on. What about all the "hard work" HRC has done with healthcare? Making so much progress, just to end up taking their bribes anyway...and by the way, we STILL don't have Universal Healthcare. Do some research and see how much money she has taken from the pharmaceutical companies (aka drug-lords). But you still believe she is looking out for you eh? I guess you can keep your rose colored glasses on and hold your breath. I chose to do something different.
First of all....learn some grammar.
I will say this about many Obama supporters, they are smart enough to know that when it comes down to doing what we as Democrats believe in, you remember thos pesky little things called PRINCIPLES that our party holds dear, either Senator will be better than McBush. Saying that you will switch parties if Hillary doesn't win not only resembles a child's tantrum-like behavior, but it is also NOT in your best interest as a Democrat.
Obviously you are not concerned with the fact that McBush will just keep the country on the same track that has lead us to the state we are in today. You must be very well off financially to be willing to take such consessions at the rest of the country's expense...so why wait? Just make the switch now and join the rest of the neo-cons that have been at the wheel for the last 8 years. The Democratic Party's platform is not for you if you'd rather vote for McBush. Spare yourself and the Party. Go now.
Cross over. Help put the final nail in this country's coffin
To be a true Democrat is to let this primary process play out without pressuring a candidate to withdraw. Also a true Democrat does not tell another to switch for having different views or for any reason for that matter. You, anonymous, are partially the problem with the Democratic party at this time. I feel this nomination process in the democratic party is ludicrous, but I am not leaving. I will try to work to change it and to motivate others to join in that fight, not tell them to switch Republican.
Have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was feeling the same way as you as a democrat from PA. What I have decided to do is if O'Bama gets the nomination I will join the fight for the Hillary write-in. I agree that I can't believe the Democratic party could let a nomination go through for someone with so many hidden associations and whom we know nothing about except scandal with Rev Wright, Bill Aires and others. Please, if this happens join me in the write in vote for Hillary
Bull! The will of the people? It's a total Media Junkie Circus. Democrats that want to be spared, those are the people that are backing Obama.
Maybe, it will be just like Dick Cheney, he'll probably appoint Al Sharpton as his Vice President. lol
How can America be so naive. This is going to cinch it for another 4 years of a Republican President. See ya at the pumps!
P.S.- A lot of people that are over the age of 21 are saying the same exact thing. This Man is not a jack-ass, he's an experienced voter. You may have to hang out with an older crowd, you may be surprised. I bet he's a veteran and you aren't!
P.S.S.- Democracy should be the Voice of the People, not the Voice of CNN. Every citizen in this country should have a say, not Super-delegates or delegates period. That's just how Bush won.
Why do you think that is so wrong? Don't you dare play the black card, when he is a closet honky hater. He is not qualified. Plain and simple.
A person doesn't go to a church for 23 years and just happened to miss all the racism. Why is it ok that he's a racist? Get real! I won't vote for McCain, but he'll win.
When 90% of the Black vote goes to Obama in North Carolina, what do you think that is?
This race will be all about race.
Hillary will be finished and Americans will be screwed, because we'll all just be living another four years under the rein of Bush.
One funny comment I heard on election day was from a young black woman "I'm voting for Osama Bin Laden." dead serious...Maybe that was one of the young college graduates, uh ha,mmmm....
Except for the errors in spelling and grammar, I support your decision and right to express it 100%. Too long have the democrats cowtowed to the fringe elements of the party. Too long have they run a mediocre (at best) candidate.
This Super-Delegate crap is also an abomination. All it shows is how people who tout a populist nature really just become turncoat sell-outs for their own gain.
This primary was not only hijacked by those who don't have a conscience to vote, it was then surrendered to empty rhetoric.
There is no content to an Obama speech and no revolutionary idea will come from his empty promises. All that is for sure is he'll turn his back on allies (such as Israel) and sit down with known enemies. His ideas aren't new and bold. They've never been discussed in daylight because they are stupid and embarassing.
Should Obama get the nomination, even with Hillary as a running mate, I shall become an independent.
"You are taking things to far with Obama!!!!!"
What the hell does that mean? Ya mean, like nominating a black man, is that what's "to far?"
Why sir? What is your reasoning for this rash decision?
Mr. Longo:
In order to be a Republican you have to know how to spell it.
:)
You are not a true democrat if you cannot vote for your party's nominee.
If the Republican's suit your needs and values better by all means make that cross over.
Cheers
~Ciao
hey jackass.
there are people who feel the same way about Hillary.
also - Obama has won more states, more votes, more delegates. If DEMOCRACY and the WILL OF THE PEOPLE doesn't mean anything to you, then you didn't belong in the Democratic Party anyway, so happy hunting.
