PA Dems: Building Blue

Auditor General Jack Wagner

Today as our guest blogger we have one of the most respected elected officials in Pennsylvania, Auditor General Jack Wagner.  I had the honor of working for Jack when he was in the state Senate and I will always hold him in the highest regard.  This morning I had the opportunity to sit down with Jack and listen to why he is supporting the Obama/Biden ticket.

"I endorsed Senator Barack Obama during the primary season and am supporting him for a multitude of reasons.  First of all I am a veteran and I recognize that Senator Obama did not support the war in Iraq.  I respect his reasons because like me, I know he and Senator Biden support our troops.

They both understand that for the sake our nation’s future, we need a responsible way to end the war.   Pennsylvania’s own Congressman John Murtha showed tremendous strength and courage three years ago by taking the lead on creating a plan to bring our troops home.  We now need to follow his leadership and with Barack Obama and Joe Biden, I am confident that a truly responsible plan will be implemented.  It is important to do so for our troops, their families and the economic toll it has taken on our nation.  American lives have been lost as well as our tax dollars.  Our infrastructure is suffering; roads, bridges and our schools.  That is going to change.

We can no longer accept that even profits from the oil that is being extracted from Iraq is not being used to fund their war.  The Iraqi government now has a $60 billion surplus as a result and those profits should be used to fund their war, rebuild their infrastructure and pay for the transition of their government.

In addition, I am proud to support Senator Obama because of his vote for the The 21st Century G.I. Bill.  This bill that dramatically changes and improves the original G.I. Bill.  It is vastly sensitive to the changing face of our military and veterans.  Our military now reflects a greater number of women, Reserve and National Guard.

As Pennsylvania’s Auditor General . . . as a Marine . . . I am excited to be a part of such a historic week in Denver and look forward to our victory in November."

Thank you so much for all your years of service to our nation and Pennsylvania, Jack.

Hillary spoke in favor of the 21st Century GI Bill before voting Yea. As a sitting Senator representing the Empire State, Mrs. Clinton, unlike "present voting" State Senator, Obama, was put in a position of casting a vote on the Iraq issue. Check the map, Jack. New York is a state that must consider defense companies constituents. She faced a difficult choice: take defense seriously and support the President in his need for the negotiating tools that permitted him to deal from a position of strength or be branded as an apologist for foolishness. She voted. She lived with her choice.

Obama rode the false claim of having never supported the war, ran against the Clinton record and legacy and now expects the voters' choice to fight his battles while he points to the Clinton record of success as a reason to trust the Dems.

The Western Pennsylvanians who sent you to the AG Office are happy with your work, Jack: but we heard nothing but howling from the Obama Camp and the MSM about Super Delegates like you, Casey and Altmire ignoring the overwhelming preference of their constituents to overturn the will of the voters. Your empty suit is looking like an air puppet with the fans shut off. Don't go down with him. He couldn't win the Pennsylvania Primary despite outspending the lady by more than 3 and a half to one. How do you expect him to win in November? As Pat Buchannon says, Obama had several opportunities to put Clinton away and couldn't seal the Deal!

One thing Sarah Palin has proven: She's got all the credentials of Executive Authority, at LEAST as much foreign policy understanding as the top of your ticket, and the Qualities of Sales Professionals the Academic Obama lacks: Closing Skills!!!

Drop the spin and try to get that Philadelphia law suit disputing Obama's Constitutional eligibility front and center. If he cannot even produce a valid certificate live of birth, recover while you can and restore the rightful nominee to the ballot. Not only can't the down ticket incumbents expect any coattails to ride them into office, he squandered his political capital by forcing a sham Convention roll call acclaimation by threatening their funding. Hillary had the Reagan Dems all but in the boat. Now you can add Palin Dems to those demographics. McCain put his ego aside, put his money where his mouth is and no striped shirt is going to give Obama the Homer Call. Slam Dunk, B-ball fans.

I see McCain has chosen a woman (and a great choice) for VP.

Now I have decided. HE gets my vote.

I just wanted to take this time for NOT thanking My??? party for leaving women out.

We certainly respect the opinions of everyone as long as they are presented in a tasteful way. It is very rare that we ever remove comments but do reserve the right to do so. Obviously we hope to get you back into the voting column for the Obama/Biden ticket. Please be sure to come back any time and offer us your opinion.

Since this comment is not complimentary and not propaganda, I don't believe it will get posted.
I want to voice my dissatisfaction with the democratic party (my party? - I used to think so ).

First the DNC appoints Barrack Obama.
Didn't we learn that the people DO know a little something? (Look at the last presidential election's popular vote)
Second, how dare Barrack Obama not choose Hillary Clinton?
The democratic ticket wants to run on the pretense of change? You could have fooled me.

Sorry - no vote from me this election - I choose Hillary.
I would have voted Obama/Clinton ..........
Also dragging out Ted Kennedy ? Give me a break. What kind of example is that? Another man that is deeply embedded in old style politics.

Makes you wonder if people will ever wise up and solidify a third party.
