PA Dems: Building Blue

American Stories, American Solutions

In case you missed it . . .

Election is over, votes have been counted and winner is declared. Now questions on Obama’s ability to run the country are asked by almost every american. Will he make it or not?

My fellow Americans, did you think about the issues in play before you cast your vote in the November 4 election? It would be nice to think that most of you did, but I know that the reality of how much people think about their political choices is less than studied. Many of you may even have studied more about whether you should take out a payday advance than who to vote for. As a case in point, check out this brief audio snippet from a recent episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” posted courtesy of BPM Deejays of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Roving Reporter Sal sought the opinions of men and women on the street, to see whether they supported Barack Obama or John McCain for President. Admittedly, they were attempting to gauge whether African-Americans would automatically vote for Obama simply because he’s black. That point is driven home by the location Sal obtains his samples from: Harlem, New York. However, the trick Sal employs in his interviews is telling. By reversing the candidates’ positions on issues like the pro-life argument, stem cell research, the war in Iraq and who Sarah Palin is – attributing McCain’s positions to Obama – Sal gets people to admit that they support all kinds of ideas that Obama wants little or nothing to do with. He exposes the ugly truth that many of us are ignorant when it comes to the issues. We parrot popular opinions and flow along with our peer groups. But when it comes to things like presidential elections and your vote, I hope you thought about it considerably.

WAKE UP CALL to all registered-to-vote democrats.
I am a democrat and part of MIDDLE America, and like many of you, especially the undecided, will be voting this coming Tuesday, November 4th. Please vote responsibly!
Just in the last couple of days, I have made a final decision to vote for Senator McCain to be our next President of the United States. Yes, Senator Obama shows many promises to "fix our economy," "to help the middle-class," basically, to alleviate the problems we are facing, domestically, in the USA. And I can see where he would "shine" doing good deeds for our great country. But, I am all too convinced that Senator Obama is weak in his experience with Foreign Policy and Foreign Relations and overall, weak in the category of leadership. Taking care of the economy is one thing, but taking care of our country, i.e., protecting it, keeping it safe, is another. And I can only see Senator Obama do the former. I envision that if he were elected as the next Commander-in-Chief, we Americans and our America would face a BIGGER challenge of facing the destruction and hatred of anti-Americans and terrorists alike. And worst-case-scenario: a repeat of September 11, 2001, aka, "9/11." Never ever again do I want to see or experience that again. Next Tuesday, I am voting for the candidate whose past experience of COUNTRY FIRST has brought him to the present with the same belief: COUNTRY FIRST, SAFETY FIRST. I will vote for Senator John McCain to be our next President of the United States!
