It's Up To Us Now

Back on August 31, shortly after Senator McCain had chosen Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, I wrote a piece about how this, as well as the choice of Joe Biden as Senator Obama's running mate was going to prove that this race was going come down to Pennsylvania. But when I wrote that, I didn't know how much it would actually come to be realized.

Pennsylvania has become the McCain/Palin tickets last stand and because of how well Democratic Party volunteers have done throughout this election, it has allowed the Obama/Biden ticket to not only expand their map, but put our entire ticket of Democrats in a good position to win.  "Don't stop at the top" as Governor Rendell and the rest of the state party staff likes to say.

But because at the national stage Democrats are seeing opportunities for pick-ups and McCain/Palin are putting all their eggs into one basket, it leaves winning Pennsylvania up to all of us in these last couple days.  From what I am hearing, yesterday there were 25,000 volunteers out knocking doors across our Commonwealth, talking to voters about the Obama/Biden ticket as well as their local candidates.

So if you were out on the street yesterday or today, or you will be volunteering tomorrow and/or on Election Day, let us know what you were up to.  Share your story with others because it really is up to us to win Pennsylvania.  Senator Obama has always said from the day he announced his candidacy that his campaign was not about him, it was about all of us.  Let's show him how right he is.
