The Governor's Prescription for Pennsylvania

Next Tuesday, February 5th, the Governor will deliver his Budget address to the General Assembly. He hasn't told me what he's going to say, but I know that one of his top priorities this year is to ensure the passage of Prescription for Pennsylvania, his plan to expand access to health care coverage, improve the quality of care and get health care costs under control.

Republicans and special interest groups are stonewalling his plan. They are spending tons of money making nuisance robo calls against expanding access to health care coverage.

Our Governor is trying to solve the crisis of uninsured Pennsylvanians. He needs our help and so does David in Erie County and Cheryl and her son in Allegheny County. Click here to listen to their stories.

All of us worked hard for Governor Rendell's re-election. And folks like Cheryl and David are one of the reasons we did. We knew Ed Rendell's progressive agenda would help them. Now we a have a responsibility to help him help them and the thousands of other uninsured Pennsylvanians.

Let's take our 60% victory out for a spin and mobilize in support of passage of Prescription for Pennsylvania. We need everyone on this email list and each of the nearly 700 people who have signed on to be Neighborhood Leaders to contact your legislator and voice your support of the Governor's health care plan. Write letters to them and to the newspapers - make your voice heard. Contact 10 people you know and ask them to do the same. It's shameful but true - unless we apply pressure and make our voices heard, Republicans simply aren't going to do anything to help the thousands of Pennsylvanians without access to health care. If you email or fax (717-901-7829) me your letters, I will make sure they get on the Governor's desk so that he knows we support him and the passage of the Prescription for Pennsylvania.
