ALL FOUR GOP CANDIDATES AGREE: THEY WOULD BAN ABORTION & RESTRICT RIGHT TO VOTE

It’s one of the least surprising developments of the night, but all four Republican candidates on the debate stage agree: they want to outlaw abortion, undermine our democracy, and restrict the right to vote. In the race-to-the-far-right, the Republican candidates are so desperate for Donald Trump and his MAGA base’s support, they’ve endorsed the most extreme Trumpian litmus tests in a sad attempt to win their primary.

ALL FOUR CANDIDATES EMBRACE TRUMP’S ELECTION LIES

None of the candidates will admit that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. In fact, they’re still litigating that election nearly two years later — they all support a sham “audit” of the 2020 election that would risk the private information of nearly nine million Pennsylvanians and cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. At the same time, they all want to restrict the right to vote by eliminating no-excuse mail-in voting.

ALL FOUR CANDIDATES WANT TO OUTLAW ABORTION

Dangerous election lies aren’t the only thing they agree on — all four candidates also want to ban abortion, following the lead of Republicans in states like Texas and Mississippi. Even though the majority of Americans support SCOTUS upholding Roe v. Wade (and oppose a dangerous Texas-style abortion ban), Doug Mastriano, Lou Barletta, Dave White, and Bill McSwain all want to outlaw abortion after six weeks — before most women even know they’re pregnant.

It’s clear from tonight’s debate, the Republicans running for Governor have an extreme and dangerous agenda — and there’s no telling how far they’ll go to win over Trump and his far-right base.
