Congressman Backed by Group Pushing For More Guns in Schools
Two days after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Pennsylvanians For Self Protection, an organization that advocates for putting more guns in schools, endorsed Congressman Lou Barletta’s senate campaign. Today, as students and parents across the country are calling on Congress to take action to reduce gun violence, Congressman Barletta is campaigning for Senate at a gun show.

“In the wake of the horrific shooting in Parkland, Florida, Congressman Barletta has rejected the national dialogue on actions Congress can take to reduce gun violence. Instead, he’s campaigning at a gun show and touting the endorsement of a group that advocates putting more guns in schools,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Max Steele. “It’s clear Congressman Barletta is following the gun lobby’s marching orders while the pleas from students, teachers, and parents in Parkland and across the country fall on deaf ears.
“Pennsylvanians are fed up with Congressmen like Lou Barletta who refuse to act in the face of mass shootings. They will hold him accountable in this election.”
