The past week has been difficult for many Americans. If you or a loved one has experienced sexual assault and would like to talk with someone, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at www.rainn.org or call 1-800-656-HOPE.
Yesterday, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford provided courageous, composed, and credible testimony regarding the sexual assault she suffered at the hands of Brett Kavanaugh.
We believe Dr. Ford, and our elected leaders have been unified in calling for an FBI investigation of her claims. In their own words…
Senator Bob Casey
Dr. Ford is credible and persuasive. She is also unbelievably brave. Until I heard her talking about what she experienced, I didn’t fully appreciate the terror she felt in that moment, the horror of the physical assault and the psychological trauma of believing she might die.

I believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. It is appalling that the White House and Senate Republicans would move forward with this nomination without an FBI investigation into these allegations. As I have said before, I will vote against his nomination.

Governor Tom Wolf
Dr. Christine Ford’s testimony was credible. We should not confirm Judge Kavanaugh to a lifetime appointment until the FBI can investigate. I join my Republican colleagues @MassGovernor, @JohnKasich, @GovLarryHogan @GovPhilScott in calling on Senate Republicans to delay the vote.

PA Congressional Leaders
The concerns raised early on about Judge #Kavanaugh has only increased during the entire confirmation process. While no one is perfect a nominee with this many questions should not receive a lifetime appointment to the #SupremeCourt. https://t.co/Kwy9mDdlqB pic.twitter.com/nq6sREhvJt

An ugly day on the Hill. But in the end, I think Dr Ford was highly, highly credible. In addition, there are other credible female accusers who are still awaiting their chance to testify. Given all of this, how in the world can the GOP justify voting to approve him tomorrow?!?!

Survivors of sexual assault who do tell their stories often face painful and even vicious consequences. They speak up anyway because silence means nothing changes. But some things need to change, and we all need to do our part. #BelieveSurvivors pic.twitter.com/QdWglY6Z2N

I found Dr. Ford’s testimony to be credible and courageous. The Senate should pause the confirmation proceedings until the FBI can investigate all of the recent allegations. The American people deserve to know the whole story before we put Judge Kavanaugh on the bench for life.
