PENNSYLVANIA — Today, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party hosted a press conference call in response to the Trump campaign’s re-launch of Women for Trump in King Of Prussia.
On the call, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills, Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner of *MomsRising (*Organization listed for identification purposes only), Wilkes-Barre City Councilwoman Beth Gilbert, and State Representative Margo Davidson highlighted the facts about Trump’s broken promises and why women in Pennsylvania and across the country will defeat him in 2020.
Chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills: “Higher health care costs. Protections for preexisting conditions slashed. Closed factories. Broken promise after broken promise. This is an agenda women do not support, and the Trump campaign cannot defend — to say nothing of his embarrassing and demeaning conduct…In 2020, Pennsylvania women — and women across the country — will hold Trump accountable, and we will defeat him, and we’ll be doing it right here in Pennsylvania.”
State Representative Margo Davidson: “Donald Trump is trying to perpetuate a cruel hoax against women, and Pennsylvania women in particular, as he rolls out his so-called ‘Women For Trump.’ It is simply an absurd notion. He and his administration have separated families at the border, put kids in cages, and enacted cruel immigration policies designed to sow fear and separate mothers from their children. It would be laughable if it weren’t so cruel. We will not be fooled by Trump in 2020 and we will not stand for his anti-woman agenda.”
Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner: “America’s moms are too smart to fall for the smoke and mirrors and empty promises that Trump is bringing. We know that actions speak louder than words — and that Trump’s actions don’t support moms and children. We know that gender justice, racial justice, and economic justice are intertwined and that Trump is failing on all three counts…In 2020, America’s moms are going to be doing more than change diapers; we are going to change our country’s leadership. Donald Trump and his supporters in Congress will answer to America’s moms at the polls next year.”
Wilkes-Barre City Councilwoman Beth Gilbert: “Donald Trump has made it more than clear who he is and who he works for as president. It isn’t folks here in Wilkes-Barre, and it certainly isn’t women in Pennsylvania and across the country. The women against Trump are loud. We know how high the stakes are. We are in every corner of this state and country. And we’re going to defeat him in 2020.”
