PENNSYLVANIA – Earlier this week, Senator John DiSanto and Senator Scott Martin joined their Harrisburg Republican colleagues to vote down a measure that would protect struggling Pennsylvanians from evictions and foreclosures.
At question was a Democratic amendment to SB 976 that would freeze evictions and foreclosures in a county for 60 days after it moves to the “yellow” phase outlined in the Governor’s guidelines. DiSanto and Martin voted against the amendment, which failed on a party line vote.
DiSanto is a former home developer who received a salary from his former company Triple Crown Corporation in 2019.
“We are dealing with an unprecedented crisis and people are hurting — through no fault of their own,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “It’s more important than ever that our representatives in Harrisburg work for the people. While Democrats are working to provide relief to struggling families, Harrisburg Republicans like DiSanto and Martin continue to put special interests first. That’s why they must be replaced in November.”
