Candidate Spotlight – Todd Eagen – Commonwealth Court

Pennsylvania’s working men and women will have an ally on the Commonwealth Court with Todd Eagen, the endorsed candidate of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

Todd boasts an extensive legal background and even has the law in his DNA — his father, Michael J. Eagen, Jr., was an attorney and his grandfather is former Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael J. Eagen.

Todd’s 20 years in legal practice began at Penn State-Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle. Upon graduation, he clerked for Federal Judge William J. Nealon and then as an associate for Robert D. Marian in Scranton.

Todd quickly discovered a passion for labor law and represented unions in both the public and the private sector. He defended and won multiple discrimination cases that infringed upon the Americans Disabilities Act, same-sex worker’s rights, and maternity leave laws. Todd’s extensive work with labor unions gave him the reputation as a staunch defender of hardworking men and women from all backgrounds.

In 2004, Todd joined Welby, Stoltenberg, Cimballa & Cook, LLC, where he soon became the managing partner of their Scranton location. To this day, Todd continues to serve over 35,000 working Pennsylvanians as a strong advocate for labor and working Pennsylvanians.

Todd has always stuck up for what’s right and fights for what he is passionate about. He has fought for equal opportunity housing for all Pennsylvanians and is a strong advocate for providing fair public education for all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background. His wife Mary Gene is the Assistant Superintendent of the Tunkhannock Area School District, and his two daughters attend public school in the Dunmore School District.
