Chairman Sen. Sharif Street Issues Statement on UAW Strike

“I am disappointed that America’s automakers have failed to reach an agreement with the members of the United Auto Workers. As of this morning, more than 13,000 U.S. auto workers have stopped making vehicles at our domestic manufacturers Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis Jeep. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party stands with the workers and calls on the automakers to pay the workers fairly and end this strike as soon as possible. There is a real risk of vehicle supply shortages and over the coming months this problem will affect suppliers throughout the country.”
