DAVID MCCORMICK ADMITS “LOTS OF PEOPLE SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT ME”

Connecticut Hedge Fund Executive Highlights Attacks from Trump and “Lots of People”

“[Trump] Says That You Are Wall Street, Not Main Street. He Says You’re Soft On China. Not Tough On China. You’re A Globalist, Not America First.”

PENNSYLVANIA — In an appearance on Open Book with Anthony Scaramucci, Connecticut hedge fund executive David McCormick was confronted with the attacks Trump levied with him during his previous failed Senate campaign. McCormick highlighted the issues he will face with both the GOP base and in a general election by pointing out that “lots of people say bad things” about him:

SCARAMUCCI: [Trump] says that you are Wall Street, not Main Street. He says you’re soft on China. Not tough on China. You’re a globalist, not America first. Weak, not a fighter. […]

MCCORMICK: …And so you know, when you get in the ring, I had lots of people say bad things about me when I was in the ring.

As David McCormick considers a second Senate run, he faces problems with the GOP base after losing a bruising primary last cycle and in a general election as Trump’s potential candidacy looms large over his decision
