David McCormick Should Stop Running Ads “Violating” Law

Six days have passed since McCormick missed the deadline to file with the FEC

PENNSYLVANIALast week the Pennsylvania Democratic Party filed a complaint with the FEC, calling for the FEC to investigate McCormick’s failure to formally register as a candidate despite spending more than $5,000, as the FEC requires. McCormick has spent more than $2 million without formally registering.

The FEC requires candidates to file within 15 days of spending more than $5,000, a deadline which passed for McCormick six days ago on January 4, 2022.

Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Jack Doyle issued the following statement:

“David McCormick has close ties to China, sent Pennsylvania jobs overseas and now seems to think he can parachute in from Connecticut and buy a Senate seat and that the rules just don’t apply to him. No one is above the law, and he needs to either file his candidacy or stop running his ads.”
