Democrats Call Trump Out For His Hypocrisy

PENNSYLVANIA — Donald Trump visited Monessen in Westmoreland County yesterday to espouse his anti-immigrant and anti-trade policies — policies that, economists agree, will send the American economy into another recession.

Americans need a president who will stand up to countries when they break rules, not one who takes advantage of broken rules for personal gain. Hillary Clinton has put forward a comprehensive agenda to address unfair and illegal trade practices. Donald Trump has not.

Trump’s actions speak far louder than his words. He has a long history of taking advantage of workers and conning businesses. Fortunately, Democrats were on hand to call him out. Watch the coverage:

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Labor leaders, Dems tackle Trump prior to his Monessen speech on trade

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka took a swipe at Donald Trump this morning ahead of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s speech in Monessen. […] “Donald Trump talks a good game on trade, but his first and only loyalty is to himself,” Mr. Trumka said. “The people of Pittsburgh and towns like it deserve more than empty promises and bluster. They need a public servant who shares our commitment to negotiating trade deals that work for working people, not a billionaire looking for his next buck.”

“While Donald Trump was on stage bashing trade policies, he was wearing one of his Trump ties that was made in China and a Trump suit that was made in Mexico,” said Marcel L. Groen, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Trump has a history of exploiting workers and rules for personal gain, and his trade policies prove that. Americans literally cannot afford a Trump presidency.”
