GOTV Phone Bank Resources for PA Dems

Thank you for signing up to make calls for PA Democrats! Before you sign in for your shift, get a jump on taking action with these three things to do before you start dialing!

1. GET SETTLED IN

Joining an at-home phone bank is easy and can be done from virtually anywhere! You should sign into your shift 10-15 minutes early; all you’ll need is:
   — A computer with reliable internet service
   — A mobile or landline phone
   — A comfy, quiet place in your home

NOTE: Use a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge as your internet browser. Apple Safari is often incompatible with our tools!

2. LOG ONTO THE CALL TOOL

There are two online tools we use to call voters from home: ThruTalk and OpenVPB. To see which you’ll be using, check your Mobilize confirmation email to see the title/type of event you joined!

If you joined an “Autodialer” shift …

If the event you joined has “dialer” in the title, you’ll be using the ThruTalk Dialer! Check out our ThruTalk Guide for all you need to know on accessing and using the tool.

If you joined a “Virtual Phone Bank” …

Most of our phone banking shifts use OpenVPB! Unless your shift specifies that it’s a “Dialer,”  our OpenVPB guide is what you’ll want to help get started.

3. KNOW WHAT TO SAY

Before your shift, we’ll send you a link to the phone bank with a custom call script. Take some time to review the script before your shift, and use our Messaging Grids to have informed conversations when voters ask about issues!
