HARRISBURG REPUBLICANS SHOULD CANCEL THEIR LUXE RETREAT TO “BACHELOR” RESORT

It would take more than two weeks of work on Harrisburg GOP’s favored $7.25/hr. minimum wage to afford a single night at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort

PENNSYLVANIA — Last Friday, it was reported by Spotlight PA that despite Pennsylvanians’ pandemic struggles, Harrisburg Republicans plan to hold their annual retreats at the luxe Nemacolin Woodlands Resort — the location of the most recent season of “The Bachelor.” Rooms cost at least $600 a night — or more than two weeks of work at Harrisburg Republicans’ favored statewide minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.

The resort advertises itself with the phrase “Let them eat cake” and offers amenities like personalized butler service, a safari tour, and holistic integrated therapy

“Jake Corman and Harrisburg Republicans think they deserve personalized butler service while working families continue to tough out the pandemic,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “These are the same out-of-touch politicians who keep Pennsylvania’s minimum wage the lowest in the country. They can either cancel this misguided retreat or be caught wining and dining in holistic healing centers while real Pennsylvanians struggle due to their failed leadership. They should cancel the retreat.”
