HARRISBURG REPUBLICANS SPENT $1 MILLION IN TAXPAYER MONEY TO DISENFRANCHISE PENNSYLVANIANS, FIGHT 2020 ELECTION

$400,000 was funneled to the law firm of PA GOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas

PENNSYLVANIA – Today, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party released the following statement on a PA Spotlight report that PA Senate Republicans spent over $1 million in taxpayer money on their efforts to disenfranchise Pennsylvanians in the 2020 general election. Nearly $400,000 was funneled to the law firm of PA GOP chairman Lawrence Tabas.

“Harrisburg Republicans have sunk to an all-time low over the past year,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “While our businesses and local communities deal with a 100-year pandemic, Harrisburg Republicans have shown they care more about disenfranchising and invalidating the votes of Pennsylvanians than the struggles of working families. There is an endless list of better places $1 million in taxpayer funds can be spent than well-connected Republican insiders who want to overturn a free and fair election. It’s clear that we can’t trust Jake Corman or Harrisburg Republicans to run a competent state government.”
