HARRISBURG REPUBLICANS WANT TO BRING BACK POLIO

Constitutional amendment to end all mandatory vaccines passes out of Health Committee with unanimous Republican support

Harrisburg, PA — Today, Harrisburg Republicans on the PA House Health Committee continued their crusade to prolong the pandemic and make infectious diseases great again by unanimously backing Rep. Russ Diamond’s push to end all mandatory vaccines.

The dangerous constitutional amendment passed out of committee on a straight 15-10 party-line vote, with all Republicans in support and all Democrats against. Mandatory vaccines have helped America to eliminate diseases like smallpox, polio, mumps and measles — but it appears Harrisburg Republicans are totally fine with these diseases making a comeback.

“As very real problems impact Pennsylvania families every day, Harrisburg Republicans continue to ignore real solutions and make everything worse,” said Brendan Welch, Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “This is worse than a do-nothing legislature: it’s a do harm legislature run by rambling far-right politicians. Republican leaders in Pennsylvania should weigh in: do they want to bring smallpox and polio back to our commonwealth?”
