ICYMI: NBC 12 CALLS REPUBLICAN OPPOSITION TO INFRASTRUCTURE BENEFITS “A SIGHT TO SEE”

Local Electeds And Union Leaders Highlight Good Jobs And Lower Costs From Infrastructure Law

PENNSYLVANIA — Yesterday, State Representatives Bob Merski and Patrick J. Harkins met with Erie Union leaders to highlight the impact of the bipartisan infrastructure law. The law will bring billions of dollars to the commonwealth to improve our roads, bridges and broadband infrastructure while bringing much-needed jobs without raising taxes on anyone making under $400,000 a year. Despite the benefits Pennsylvania will see from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, GOP Senate hopefuls would’ve voted against it.

NBC 12 in Erie highlighted the GOP’s opposition, noting that “despite these benefits, not everyone was on board. some GOP hopefuls like Jeff Bartos and Carla Sands say they would have voted against the bipartisan infrastructure law.” The anchors called the opposition “a sight to see.”

Jeff Bartos openly opposed it, while Carla Sands called it “socialist” legislation she needs to “protect” Americans from. Kathy Barnette called it “disgraceful.

WJET also covered the event, highlighting the jobs and benefits the infrastructure law will bring to Erie.
