ICYMI: TRUMP HAS FAILED PENNSYLVANIA WOMEN — PA DEMOCRATS HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE

As the Trump campaign launched its “Women For Trump” bus tour in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania Democrats called out the devastating impact of Trump’s anti-woman agenda and disastrous coronavirus response. Check out some coverage of their efforts below.

Before the Trump campaign even touched down, PDP Chairwoman Mills blasted the president’s record of broken promises:

LNP: “Ahead of the Trump campaign’s visit to Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills said in a statement the tour would not ‘erase Donald Trump’s record broken promises to Pennsylvania women, including his ongoing failure to deal with the coronavirus crisis.’

‘Since his first day as President, Donald Trump has always put his personal political interest before the health and safety of Pennsylvania women and all of our families,’ Patton Mills added. ‘That’s why he rolled back Obama-Biden era protections against workplace sexual harassment and pay disparities.’”

Key Democratic leaders then hosted a virtual press conference to call out the Trump administration’s failure to deliver for women in Pennsylvania:

KYW-TV (watch the full clip here): “As the Women For Trump bus tour kicked-off in Montgomery County, the woman who represents that area — Madeleine Dean — says it’s Biden who will lift women up.”

WCAU-TV (watch the full clip here): “Several Pennsylvania lawmakers are criticizing today’s event. They say that the President’s  response to COVID-19 is nothing to celebrate and his administration has done nothing but fail Pennsylvania women.”

KDKA-TV (watch the full clip here): “‘He’s spent the bulk of his life lifting up families, lifting up working class families, lifting up those who are struggling,’ [said Democratic Congresswoman Madeleine Dean about Vice President Biden.]”

The Intelligencer: “Democratic officials Monday called a bus tour in southeastern Pennsylvania for President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign ‘foolish’ and a sign of ‘ongoing failures’ in his national pandemic response.

Their comments came as the Women for Trump bus tour was preparing its 2:30 p.m. launch of its tour to multiple swing states at the Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Co. in Montgomery County on Monday afternoon…

Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, D-4 of Abington, and state Sen. Maria Collett, D-12, of Lower Gwynedd, said the events underscore a pattern of ignoring medical experts’ warnings against large gatherings that could spread the coronavirus.”

CBS Philadelphia Online: “Pennsylvania is a key battleground state in the 2020 election. Women For Trump launched their bus tour at the Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Company on Monday…

As the bus tour kicked off in Montgomery County, Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, who represents the area, said it’s Joe Biden who will lift women up. A new CBS News battleground tracker poll shows Biden six points ahead of Trump in Pennsylvania.”

CBS Pittsburgh Online: “The latest CBS News Poll shows Joe Biden beating Pres. Trump by six points in Pennsylvania, largely because Biden has a 16-point lead among women in this state. That explains why Lara was in the state to kick off a special bus tour… And unlike Pres. Trump, she says Biden would make America less safe.

Untrue, says Pennsylvania Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, one of four women in the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Dean says that’s not the moderate progressive Biden that most people know. ‘He spent the bulk of his energy lifting up families, lifting up working-class people, lifting up those who are struggling. He’s no Trojan horse, he’s the real deal,’ says Dean.”
