MASTRIANO SAYS HIS COMMITTEE WILL VOTE ON FRAUDIT SUBPOENAS — AND WE STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE JAKE CORMAN STANDS

PENNSYLVANIA — On Wednesday, PA Senator Doug Mastriano — a QAnon conspiracy theorist and insurrectionist who is leading the charge for a costly “faudit” of Pennsylvania’s 2020 election — told radio host Pat Ryan that he will attempt to use his Intergovernmental Affairs Committee to issue subpoenas to counties that decline to go along with his fishing expedition. Mastriano said “the subpoenas are going to have to go forth,” and added “As long as I get six votes out of the 10 members, then I have the power… I feel great about it. It’s just finding a date on the calendar that works. That’s all.”

This would be a perfect time for Jake Corman — one of those 10 members and the leading Republican in the PA Senate — to finally let Pennsylvanians know his stance on subpoenas or a potential fraudit. But we still don’t know where he stands. As the top Senate Republican, Corman controls the calendar and could prevent a meeting from happening, and he also holds a crucial vote on the committee.

Corman has tried to stay silent on the matter but also openly flirted with the idea of a fraudit — despite the burden on taxpayers to replace costly voting equipment and the mass turnover of voters’ personal information to unknown third parties.

“It’s beyond time for Jake Corman to come clean — does he support Mastriano’s fraudit?” said Brendan Welch, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Will he vote in favor of subpoenas by a committee that has nothing to do with election issues? Will he even allow a vote to happen? Pennsylvanians are waiting for an answer while their tax dollars and sensitive personal information are put at risk by the whims of far-right conspiracy theorists and their Harrisburg Republican enablers.”
