Oz: Talking About Protecting Women’s Reproductive Health “A Rathole”

PENNSYLVANIALast night on Fox News, Mehmet Oz reiterated his opposition to protecting women’s reproductive health care in a rambling, messy answerincluding a statement that talking about protecting women’s reproductive health care is “a rathole.”

Oz: I‘m strongly pro life with the three exceptions I mentioned. That’s how I would vote.

Cain: And when does that life begin?

Oz: You know, again, if I’m pro life, then that’s a decision that comes back to the sanctity of when you think life does begin, and I believe that begins when you’re in the mother’s womb.

Cain: When you’re in the mother’s womb? But that carries you all the way up to nine months of pregnancy.

Oz: No, of course not,  life’s already started when you’re in your mother’s womb, but it’s a rathole, to get trapped in the different ways of talking about it. We need as a nation to make sure the Constitution is appropriately followed…

Cain: Yeah, but that’s also something that’s going to have to be legislated. That answer is going to have to be given specifically.

This is not the first time that Oz has made it clear that he would not protect a woman’s access to reproductive care or her right to choose.
