PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairwoman Nancy Patton Mills released the following statement in response to President Trump’s State of the Union Address:
“Donald Trump continues to sell out working Pennsylvanians to side with the wealthiest Americans and large corporations. Nothing he said tonight changes that reality.
“He promised to protect health care for everyday families, but instead he’s undermining protections for pre-existing conditions like asthma and diabetes. He promised to give the middle-class a tax break, but instead he led a massive giveaway to the largest corporations that keeps them from paying any taxes. And he promised to protect earned benefits like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, but instead has proposed trillions in cuts that would devastate our children and seniors.
“Pennsylvania families can’t afford another four years of Donald Trump’s broken promises. That’s why we’re working hard to replace him with a true champion for working families this November.”
