PENNSYLVANIA — Following the second Republican primary debate for Governor tonight in New Castle, Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Marisa Nahem issued the below statement:
“Tonight, while only 8 out of the 15 Republican candidates decided to show up to the second debate in New Castle, there was no shortage of absurd, far-right, and out-of-touch ideas — repeating Donald Trump’s lie that the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ and reiterating support for extreme and unpopular abortion bans. Pennsylvanians deserve leaders who will put them first, focusing on bringing people together to solve the issues that matter most to families across the Commonwealth — but tonight they saw a crowded field of out-of-touch, MAGA wannabes who have pledged allegiance to Trump and are obsessed with embracing every far-right litmus test thrown their way. Pennsylvanians deserve better.”
