PENNSYLVANIA – In celebration of National Coming Out day, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Executive Director Corey Pellington released the following statement:
“National Coming Out Day is a great chance to celebrate and uplift the LGBTQ community. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I take great pride in the strength and resilience we have shown throughout our history while acknowledging that there is still so much work to do. While today is a day we celebrate those who are living openly as their true selves, we must also remember those who are forced to hide who they are.
At a time when many in the LGBTQ community live in fear of violence, especially transgender and gender nonconforming people, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party is committed to fighting for a world where everyone can live with safety, equality, and dignity.”
