PA DEMS STATEMENT ON PENCE VISIT TO SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA

PENNSYLVANIA — Today, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party issued the following statement in response to the announcement that Vice President Pence plans to visit to the commonwealth on Wednesday, announced the same day the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the unemployment rate in America is still 8.4%:

“Mike Pence and Donald Trump are desperate to talk about anything except their failed economy and historic recession that has caused the unemployment rate for Pennsylvanians to more than double since they took office,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Andres Anzola. “If Trump and Pence were serious about making life better for families in southwestern Pennsylvania they’d stop their attacks on unions, stop giving tax breaks to wealthy corporations that ship jobs overseas, and deliver a plan to bring our economy back from the brink. Pennsylvania families can’t afford four more years of this failed leadership.”
