PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania Democratic Party Spokesperson Rosie Lapowsky issued the following statement after today’s announcement that the Pennsylvania economy gained 18,500 jobs last month and the state’s unemployment rate changed to 6.9%:
“Today’s strong jobs report makes it clear that President Biden’s economic agenda is working. Pennsylvania’s unemployment numbers fell more in the month of May than they have over the course of the last eight months combined. With businesses reopening, COVID cases dwindling, and vaccination rates rising, it is clear that the Democrats and President Biden are delivering for Pennsylvania families. As we continue to build back better, congressional PA Republicans must join their Democratic colleagues to deliver additional relief to their constituents by passing the American Jobs Plan and the American Families Plan.”
