Our Plan to Register 125,000 New PA Democrats

Giving new voters a voice is the cornerstone of democratic progress, but last year COVID-19 stopped voter registration in its tracks. Now, we’re turning the tide with an online and on-the-ground program to register 125,000 Pennsylvania voters before the 2022 PA Primary.

THE PEOPLE

Blending data from dozens of public sources — including census reports, property records, voter info, and more — our team of Data Scientists has pinpointed over 350,000 likely Democrats who simply aren’t registered to vote right now.

THE PLAN

Using every tool in our quickly growing toolkit, we’re engaging soon-to-be voters early, often, and on multiple fronts. Our message? Democracy needs you to be a voter, and it’s easy to get registered now!

DIRECT MAIL
We are sending out hundreds of thousands of voter registration forms with pre-paid return envelopes. All that’s left for our prospective voters to do is sign, seal, and deliver!

DIGITAL OUTREACH
As registration forms land in mailboxes, we’re peppering those same potential voters with digital ads about the importance of getting registered.

To make becoming a voter even easier, we’re launching a best-in-class online registration form that simplifies the signup process and works better on small screens.

ORGANIZING ONLINE & IN PERSON
Over 30,000 PA Democratic Party volunteers sent 18.2 Million texts and made 40.6 Million calls in 2020. We’re putting that team in motion again in 2021 — safely reaching thousands of voters by phone to help finish their registration.

And as the pandemic subsides, we’ll be hitting the streets with our county parties to register new Democrats in person this fall.

CAMPUS ORGANIZING
We’re rapidly expanding our field team to build a stronger presence on PA college campuses. We’re also eyeing big investments in youth and student chapters.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
We’re partnering with local leaders to plan nonpartisan voter registration drives at community centers, places of worship, and anywhere else Pennsylvanians come together.

To ensure our partnerships thrive, we’re expanding our Coalitions Team with up to five new hires, including Black, Latino, and Rural Outreach Directors. It will be the largest such team we’ve had outside of a presidential year, and it’s all part of our commitment to do more for underserved communities.
