PENNSYLVANIA — Tomorrow, the Lehigh County GOP will host an annual fundraising breakfast. That’s a normal thing for a county party to do. What’s not normal is to invite a QAnon-supporting freshman Congresswoman from Colorado who live-tweeted Nancy Pelosi’s location during the Capitol Insurrection — but Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO-3) will be a “featured speaker” at the event, alongside former Congressional candidate Lisa Scheller and PA GOP Chairman Lawrence Tabas.
“It’s official: the Lehigh County GOP is a safe harbor for conspiracy theories, QAnon loons, and dangerous extremists,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “The Republican Party continues to move in a chilling direction that seeks to undercut our American democracy, and the rot stretches from Republican leaders all the way through the party’s grassroots. We call on Lehigh County GOP leadership to disinvite Lauren Boebert from the event and unequivocally disavow QAnon and its supporters.”
QAnon is the bizarre theory that a Satan-worshipping cabal of child traffickers is secretly running the world and that Donald Trump was elected to stop them.
