Oz fundraises with GOP Senate campaign chair as abortion Rights are on the ballot in Pennsylvania’s Senate election
PENNSYLVANIA – Today Mehmet Oz joins GOP Senate campaign chair Rick Scott for a fundraiser in Los Angeles, a place Hollywood Oz knows well.
Just this week, Rick Scott said “there are ‘arguments to do’ abortion restrictions ‘at the federal level”, providing further proof that abortion rights are on the ballot in Pennsylvania’s Senate race.
Oz continues to try and hide his radical anti-choice positions behind gibberish statements, but we remember that Oz called abortion at any stage of the pregnancy “murder” and has said he’d support bans on abortion, even in cases of rape or incest.
In addition to being a threat to a woman’s right to choose, Oz would be a vote for Scott’s agenda that would raise taxes on 35% of Pennsylvanians. The plan, which the Pennsylvania Capital Star called “uniformly terrible”, would hit poor families and seniors the hardest.
Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Jack Doyle issued the following statement:
“Mehmet Oz is back in Hollywood fundraising with national Republicans who would push national abortion bans and threaten Medicare and Social Security if the GOP regains the Senate. Pennsylvania voters cannot trust this fraud who would be a vote for these dangerous policies in the Senate.”
