SENATE REPUBLICANS COMMIT TO REPEAL ACA IF ELECTED

PENNSYLVANIA A week after NRSC Chairman Rick Scott outlined Senate Republicans’ plan to raise taxes on millions of Americans, GOP Senate Ron Johnson promised to work towards repealing the Affordable Care Act if Republicans retake the majority.

Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Jack Doyle issued the following statement:

“Republicans continue to accidentally tell the truth about how dangerous it would be for them to retake the Senate majority. In addition to raising taxes on seniors and working families, they’ve made it clear they intend to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

This is what we can expect if David McCormick, Carla Sands, Mehmet Oz or any of the other GOP candidates become our next Senator. A GOP Senate majority will purposefully work towards spiking health care costs while ripping coverage protections away from Americans with pre-existing conditions. The importance of electing a Democrat in Pennsylvania, which is likely to decide the Senate majority, could not be clearer.”
