SOFT ON CHINA TOUR: CRUZ TO APPEAR AT MCCORMICK EVENT

McCormick invites more attacks around his ties to China by partnering with a Senator who has voted against holding China accountable

PENNSYLVANIA — Connecticut hedge fund executive David McCormick’s campaign has been defined by attacks from members of his own party focused on his ties to China and record of outsourcing Pennsylvania jobs

That is sure to only get worse now that McCormick is holding an event with election conspiracy theorist Ted Cruz, who has spent his time in the Senate voting against measures that would hold China accountable.

Cruz voted against the United States Innovation and Competition Act (USICA), a bill aimed at increasing the United States’ competitiveness with China in the fields of science and technology. Cruz also voted against a bill measure to crack down on China’s currency manipulation

Pennsylvania spokesperson Jack Doyle issued the following statement:

“Given McCormick’s ties to China and history of cutting Pennsylvania jobs, it’s no surprise that he would align with a Senator who has refused to hold China accountable. The people of Pennsylvania deserve to be represented by someone who will put them first, not a hedge fund executive from Connecticut who made his money shipping jobs overseas.”
