Doug Mastriano to hold “voter integrity conference” in Gettysburg alongside Steve Bannon and Mike Lindell.
PENNSYLVANIA — Today, “Trump Primary” frontrunner Doug Mastriano will join Mike Lindell in Gettysburg for a “voter integrity conference” sponsored by a group that shares “conspiracy theories about unfounded election fraud” with remarks from special guest Steve Bannon. Bannon’s show has been called a “dangerous fantasyland of election lies,” and the GOP candidates for Governor are certainly taking advantage of the opportunity, “flocking to Steve Bannon’s podcast for the chance to demonstrate loyalty to Trump and audition for the former president’s support.”
The last time Bannon descended on Gettysburg was a few weeks after the 2020 presidential election where he again teamed up with Mastriano to host the now infamous hearing where Trump egged on the crowd of Big Lie conspiracy theorists, saying, “This is going to be your crowning achievement because you’re saving our country.”
While the leading candidates in the GOP race-to-the-far-right have gone all-in on Trump and the Big Lie, undeniably none more so than Doug Mastriano. Mastriano not only attended the Jan. 6 insurrection and paid thousands of dollars to bus Pennsylvanians to the Capitol that day, but he also has called for sham election “audits” in all 50 states and the possible decertification of results. These efforts have earned him national attention — and “street cred” among the MAGA base — along with a congressional subpoena, although he seemingly ignored it.
“Last week, Doug Mastriano became the first Republican candidate for Governor to make it on the ballot and this week, he’s campaigned with Trump’s spokesperson Liz Harrington and is now appearing alongside Steve Bannon — and Mastriano’s making crystal clear that he’s not only bringing Trump’s dangerous Big Lie to the Commonwealth, but Trump’s biggest liars too,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Marisa Nahem. “MAGA extremists like Doug Mastriano can’t be allowed anywhere near the Governor’s office — and while the other far-right wannabes try to knock Mastriano down in a desperate attempt to prove their loyalty to the MAGA base, the only thing they’re succeeding in is showing Pennsylvanians that they will always come second to Trump and his conspiracy theorists.”
