PENNSYLVANIA – Yesterday, Lisa Scheller released a TV ad claiming that she will “protect coverage for pre-existing conditions.” But Scheller has referred to the Affordable Care Act, which protects nearly 300,000 residents of the 7th Congressional District with preexisting conditions, as “government overreach” and has “pledged to be an ally” of President Donald Trump, who has relentlessly attacked the Affordable Care Act throughout his presidency. His administration is currently asking the Supreme Court to strike down the entire law.
“Lisa Scheller is a self-serving politician who will say or do anything to get elected,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “She’s trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Lehigh Valley families so she can help her Washington Republican friends take away their health care. Here’s who she’s really fighting for: the Washington swamp and the special interests that fund her campaign.”
