GOP CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR CHAMPION EXTREME ANTI-CHOICE, ANTI-LGBTQ+ AGENDA AT FAR-RIGHT FORUM

PENNSYLVANIA — In response to GOP candidates for Governor showcasing their extreme and unpopular agenda at an extreme anti-choice, anti-LGBTQ+ group’s forum this evening, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Spokesperson Marisa Nahem issued the following statement:

“The GOP candidates for Governor are obsessed with catering to their preferred far-right audience, not addressing the issues Pennsylvanians care about most — so it’s no surprise they focused solely on their extreme and unpopular agenda tonight. Two days after Republican candidates set rules to avoid ‘mean questions,’ this ‘debate’ was yet another example of how incredibly out-of-touch these candidates are, and how incredibly high the stakes are for equality and reproductive rights. While the GOP candidates’ commitment to dangerous, anti-choice and discriminatory policies is crystal clear, so is the contrast in this race, and Pennsylvanians know they have the power to elect a true champion in Josh Shapiro on November 8.”

PSA: Opportunities are limited for Pennsylvanians to hear from GOP candidates for Governor. This forum comes a few days after Lou Barletta, Jake Corman, Bill McSwain, and Dave White unveiled their “bizarre” “diva-esque debate demands” in a desperate attempt to avoid “mean questions” and hide their out-of-touch agenda from Pennsylvanians.
